Crysdiam attended the Lab-grown Diamond Symposium in Dubai
On July 10th, Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) hosted the first Lab-Grown Diamond Symposium under the theme of “Building Lab-Grown Diamonds’ Own Bright Future”. The Symposium welcomed over 230 stakeholders and industry experts including growers, manufacturers, retailers and financial institutions, and organized three panel discussions dived into the issues around the value chain economics, branding and marketing, and reputation and sustainability.
Crysdiam, together with growers and brands including Craft Lab Grown Diamonds, Hyde Park Jewelers and Bhanderi Lab Grown Diamonds, joined the panel discussion on "Industry Economics", discussing how to improve the long-term fundamentals and profitability of the industry and meet supply chain funding requirements.
Mr. Liang Weizhang, Senior Strategic Advisor of Crysdiam, spoke in the panel that the technology progress has reduced the cost of lab-grown diamonds. Now the marginal cost of the industry is approaching the fixed cost, and the industry is about to usher in a new revolution, which will attract more innovations and applications and bring a second growth curve. In addition, the collaboration between the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain, as well as the cooperation among growers, traders and retailers in the supply chain is very important for the long-term development of the industry.
The technology session discussed how innovations such as more efficient reactors are making production more cost and energy efficient, as well as how the tech sector is more bankable than jewellery, giving rise to a broader range of opportunities for tech applications of lab-grown diamonds. Additionally, another session concluded that the price accessibility of lab-grown diamonds means that they are not constrained to traditional jewellery designs, meaning that lab-grown diamonds should be marketed with wider applications such as in the design of sunglasses, handbags and other similar products.
As a leading producer of CVD diamond, Crysdiam has been committed to the industrial production and high-end application development of large-size single crystal CVD diamond. Crysdiam cooperates with various universities and colleges at home and abroad to develop the application of large-size single crystal diamond in laser crystals, optical windows, heat sinks, quantum materials, high-power devices and so on. The upgradable MPCVD equipment developed by Crysdiam can meet the doping requirements of high-end functional devices, realize high-precision controllable gas doping, and can industrially produce high-quality single crystal diamonds above 35*35mm with low defect density. The products are widely used in jewelry and technology fields.
Crysdiam will work together with colleagues in the industry to create a bright future for lab-grown diamonds!
